Water is the most important commodity you can have in an emergency or disaster, as you can only live for approximately 3 days without it. The line of vertical Water Storage Tanks made by Bushman are the easiest and most cost-effective way to store the most amount of water in a small space, and are perfect to store water inside your garage or other enclosed buildings. Stored water can be used as an emergency water supply in the event of commercial water loss, contaminated water, boil notices or other environmental disasters.
A 3/4" brass ball valve assembly is located at the bottom of the tank to be used for draining and attaching a hose for easy distribution of the stored water.
We recommend filling the tank with clean potable water and adding a water treatment solution to it for storage. When properly treated, water may be stored up to 5 years without the need to flush, clean and refill the tank.
This durable, heavy-duty tank is made from FDA/NSF Approved, Food Grade, BPA-Free polyethylene and has built-in UV inhibitors to avoid color fading and breakdown from harsh sunlight. Although this tank has UV inhibitors that prolong both its service life and helps reduce algae growth, the maximum water storage life may be achieved by keeping the tank indoors and out of the sun. Leaving the tank in the sun will greatly reduce the effectiveness of the water treatment and degrade the quality of the potable water.
Some thought should be given as to where to position the tank in your home; make sure the floor surface will be able to support the weight of the tank when full. Water weighs appx. 8.34 lbs. per gallon, so every 100 gallons of water will weigh appx. 834 pounds total.
